We were lucky to be able to Carlisle United’s pre-season training regime this week.
Organised by Adventure 21, outdoor pursuits and adventure training specialists, the activity was designed to test teamwork, stamina and communication with a team leader selected at random and given a briefing, before then having to pass on the instructions to his boat buddies prior to them taking to the water on their map reading excursion.
Wednesday night saw the team return to Lanehead for more team bonding activities, with a bright and early start on Thursday morning of circuit training, and a walk up the Old Man of Coniston.
We wish them all the best for next season!

Coniston Water has never looked better especially with a backdrop of the Old Man of Coniston. The weather pattern that first started with the Beast from the East this winter has proved to be a boom for the Lakes. Sheltered from the easterly breezes we are enjoying a sunny and warm start to summer. The surrounding countryside has burst into bloom. Even the summer meadows have been harvested early.
With no significant rain for the past month, Coniston Water has developed a perimeter beach providing the perfect base for families cooling off around the lake. Speaking of which we recently we hosted Chelsea from LakeSUP who came down and taught a group of guests how to paddle board. A fantastic way to tour the shoreline of Coniston and perhaps drop in at the Bluebird Cafe for lunch. Long may the current balmy weather continue !
Wish you were here?
We would like you to see the facilities first hand on June 12th, 13th and 14th. You are welcome to stay over, and experience how a few hours in the Lakes can be inspiration for mind and body. June 12th is designed for direct bookers, whilst June 13th and 14th will be geared towards venue and event management agents.
Places are likely to fill quickly. To book your visit, please call us on 01539 454990 or email bookings@laneheadconiston.co.uk.
